Acrylic on 16x20 Canvas Panel.
I took stretched canvases for granted... now I'm stuck with these boards.

"Waiting for the Rain" or "Deuteronomy."

Started painting this on November 05, 2008, at Bethel Chapel's P2W2.

It addresses keeping yourself in a position to anticipate the rain (waiting for the promises of God) when everything surrounding you denies that. There is so much more to add to that...

Is it meaningful that she is wearing a green dress? (Or did you just like the colour??)
I like it anyway :)

Actually yes! More about the piece that I didn't explain: A tree that survives a drought has a root system that fought to find a source of water way deep beneath the surface. So, in the time of harvest, it will yield a bountiful crop, and in the time of heavy rain, it will not be moved.

She is wearing green as a symbol of life, as a symbol of that tree!

Thanks for the comment!

Oh empathy. Great appreciation for this concept right now!
